Your appointment as National Director for Miss Universe Cabo Verde marks a significant moment - what does this role represent to you personally, beyond the title?
A: This role represents far more than a title, it represents a mission rooted in Beauty with Impact. For me, it is about building a platform where Cape Verdean women are empowered to lead, to use their voice, and to create meaningful change. It reflects years of dedication to positioning Cabo Verde on the global stage, not only through beauty, but through purpose, leadership, and impact.
Cabo Verde has a unique cultural identity and global presence - how do you envision translating that into the Miss Universe platform in a way that feels both authentic and impactful?
A: Cabo Verde’s identity is powerful ,shaped by resilience, culture, and a strong global diaspora. My vision is to translate that through authentic storytelling, where Beauty with Impact becomes the lens. It’s about showing the world our morabeza, our strength, and our potential - not just how we look, but what we stand for and the impact we are creating.
: Stepping into leadership often requires redefining systems - what is one thing you are determined to elevate or shift within the organization?
A: I am focused on elevating the platform into a space where impact is the standard. Every woman who steps into this journey should represent a cause, a purpose, and a commitment to her community. This is the shift , from visibility alone to meaningful influence.
What qualities do you believe define a modern Miss Universe delegate today, particularly from a country like Cabo Verde?
A: A modern Miss Universe Cabo Verde delegate is a woman of substance , confident, self-aware, and purpose-driven. She embodiesBeauty with Impact, using her voice to inspire, lead, and create change, while proudly representing the identity and values of Cabo Verde.
How do you see this role influencing not just the pageant space, but the broader conversation around women, representation, and opportunity in Cabo Verde?
A: This platform is about reshaping narratives. It creates space for women to be seen as leaders, changemakers, and contributors to society. My goal is to inspire young girls across Cabo Verde to see possibility, to believe in their voice, and to understand that they, too, can create impact.
Leadership in spaces like this comes with both visibility and responsibility - how are you approaching the balance between honoring tradition and introducing a new vision?
A: I believe in honoring who we are while evolving into who we are becoming. Beauty with Impact allows us to bridge that , respecting tradition while introducing a more purposeful and globally relevant vision for the platform.
Looking ahead, what would success in this role look like for you - not just in terms of titles or placements, but in legacy and long-term impact?
A: Success, for me, is measured by impact. It’s about how many lives we touch, how we elevate Cabo Verde globally, and how we create opportunities for women beyond the stage. If this platform becomes a vehicle for lasting change, then that is the true achievement.
