From a small studio to international editorial recognition, BeezGlam has built a reputation rooted in skill, intention, and storytelling. In this Q&A, founder and creative director shares her journey through beauty and creative direction, offering insight into her process, her vision for the Manhattan Avenue cover, and how BeezGlam continues to shape modern beauty with purpose and precision.
Q. Can you share the story behind BeezGlam? How did the brand come to life?
A. BEEZGLAM was born out of a small room, a mirror, and my need to make people feel seen. I started by doing makeup for friends, and over time, I realized this was more than just beauty. It was connection, storytelling, and skill all rolled into one. The brand came to life through consistency, learning on the job, and listening to what people needed but weren’t getting.
Q. What inspired you to enter the world of beauty and creative direction?
A. I’ve always had a sharp eye for detail. Makeup was my first love, but I’ve never been able to just stop at the face. I’d find myself adjusting lights, changing backdrops, fixing hair. I realized I wasn’t just creating looks but I was directing the whole scene. That’s where the creative direction part came in.
Q. How would you describe BeezGlam’s signature style or aesthetic?
A. CLEAN, MINIMAL &, TIMELESS. Our work is elevated without being loud but also BOLD in a calm way. It speaks before you do, and it always respects the person wearing it.
Q. Where did your journey in beauty and creative direction begin, and who or what shaped your early perspective?
A. It started in my early twenties. I was obsessed with how makeup could change how someone felt about themselves. I was greatly influenced by my Mom who would wear makeup to her weekly functions, Black women who made beauty look effortless, Women who weren’t always represented in mainstream media. I paid attention to the little things they did and brought that attention to my own work.
Q. Outside of beauty and studio work, what inspires you personally, any rituals, people, or places that ground your creativity?
A. Motherhood grounds me. My babies remind me that every moment counts. Travel, different cultures and storytelling. I also enjoy taking morning walks and staying offline until I’m ready to give energy. I draw strength from women who build their lives with intention and this is in any field.
